international matchmaking organization doing business in the United States shall
disseminate to recruits, upon recruitment, such immigration and naturalization information
as the Immigration and Naturalization Service deems appropriate, in the recruit's native
language, including information regarding conditional permanent residence status and the
battered spouse waiver under such status, permanent resident status, marriage fraud
penalties, the unregulated nature of the business engaged in by such organizations, and
the study required under subsection (c)."

1. The US government has laws that protect foreign spouses who are abused. This means that if you marry an American and you are abused you should contact
someone to help you. Here are some organizations that can help you in the United States:

2. The US government has substantial penalties for marriage fraud. This means that you must be sincere in your desire to marry an American and not
only because you want to live in America. If the U.S. government finds that you married an
American only so that you can come to America there are penalties.
3. The international matchmaking organization business is unregulated. This means that there are no government regulations that tell this kind of
business how it should operate.
4. The US government performs periodic studies of spousal abuse and marriage fraud
