The Songkran celebration in Thailand is held during the week of Thai New Year. It is traditionally a time of cleansing and refreshing in preparation for the start of another year. Splashing water on one another is part of the ritual of cleansing. But now days it is an enormous country-wide water war. Water guns, pumps and hoses and huge buckets are used to drench everybody within reach. And that means literally thousands of young Thai girls running around in wet clothing.
